First Halloween

Calvin's first Halloween was relatively uneventful - we went to our usual spot to celebrate! No candy consumed and not a single trick-or-treater though :(

Never Work with Kids and Animals...

Kristi and A.J. came to visit us while we were in Baltimore and we decided it would be the perfect time to get a picture of the three kids and Mr. Pickles....I think we took about 30 pictures to get just these! But how cute are they...

Gimme a Hug

Jealous Cousins

While they "played" pretty well together (eye-poking, toy-stealing, pushing, the usual), Calvin and Alex competed for the grandparents' attention...if one was being held, the other one had to be too!

Villa d'Este

Ok, these aren't pictures of Calvin...but the place was so incredible I had to put some up! I can't recommend Italy enough, especially if you want a kid friendly holiday. Calvin got his cheeks squeezed, his hands kissed by little old ladies, and special treatment in general - and most importantly, people just chuckled and said "Ah, bambino" when he got up to no good.

Switzerland in a Day

We were so close to the border on our Italian trip that we thought we'd pop over to Switzerland for the afternoon to continue Calvin's world tour. It was a beautiful day, but he definitely preferred Italy :)

Swim Diapers!

We forgot swim diapers and decided to give the pool a go with a regular one on...not the smartest idea, since it ended up weighing more than Calvin!

Swimming Pool Video

Swimming!

Calvin absolutely loves to swim, so Martin took him in the pool every afternoon. It was hard to tell who was having a better time...

Omelette in Italy

The View from our Balcony

This was the incredible view we had of Lake Como...no wonder Calvin's smiling :)

Italian Villa with Mom and Dad

We took a speedboat taxi to a remote villa in Lake Como - it was well worth a trip, but we discovered that "Boats come every 15 minutes" translates in Italian to "Boats come every hour or so, when the driver can be bothered" We also discovered that Calvin takes after his dad in the patience department....very little!
